Now and Then, Here and There Review

Category: Anime Reviews @ 8:25 pm

Wtf. No, seriously. WTF??? Ok, this series was just…really bad ~_~;;; And I had very high hopes for this series since everyone praises it so much D: But WTF!? Ok, this review is just gonna turn out to be some kind of angry rant so please stop here if you love this anime XD

My opening remarks? Now and Then, Here and There is a child abuse show. These poor kids get beaten senseless for the stupidest reasons D: It’s dummer than the holocaust D: anyways…

Ok. So the anime starts off with a boy named Shuu who plays kendo. Apparently, he finds a girl sitting on the top of a tall pipe thingy [?] and talks to her for a bit. After a rather crappy and boring conversation, he is all of a sudden chased by machines and teleported to a new world where he is beaten senseless and gets caught up in a mess that was so freakin unrealistic, rushed, and stupid. To think that he wouldn’t have ended up in if he just DIDN’T talk to the girl on the top of the tall pipe thingy.

There are MANY instances in this anime where i found myself saying "one would normally DIE in that kind of situation >___>;;;". I found this anime to be VERY unrealistic and portrays human emotions in a very unrealistic way. Where do I begin ~____~?? Oh wait, I know. Let’s start off with Shuu. Okay. He was so freakin annoying. I hated him ~_~ I couldn’t stand his overly optomistic personality. It got to a point where he was TOO optomistic that it was overused and extremley annoying. "Don’t worry, we’ll pull through 8D", "All good things happen when you stay alive 8D~!" Bullshit. I can’t believe he was beaten senseless, hung by his wrists over like a 200 feet tower, and still talks all happy and optomistic. Oh please -_- I just wanted someone to shut up that boy and make him face reality.

The other character who annoyed me was Sara. Oh my freakin god -_- She over reacted to everything like some paranoid psycho bitch. I mean, sure, what she went through was like hell. Getting raped, pregnant, mistaken for Lalaru, etc… but they could have made her, i dunno. less annoying. I couldn’t relate to her situation at all because she was so freakin annoying.

And don’t get me started on that Hando jackass. How’d he become king anyways??? Everyone hates him, so why don’t they just kill him? It’s not like he’s hitler and has 5 thousand nazi’s who’ll shoot your head off if you oppose him. Hando was just some annoying crazy bastard who was just…really stupid -_-;;

The ONLY character I was able to tolerate was Nabuka, but his voice actor sucked -_-;

The thing I hated most about this anime… the ending. WTF. it just ended. Everyone like… died. And then they lived happily ever after. Wow >_>;; I at least wanted to see Sara and Shuu sent back to there homes because I mean afterall… they were beaten senseless >_>;

Ok, so clearly, I didn’t like this series. There are some series where I can understand why people like them… but this anime was just plain annoying and stupid. I really needed to just let it out.

Black Lagoon - Review

Category: Anime Reviews, Black Lagoon @ 3:13 pm

Photobucket

I’ll be blunt. First season of Black Lagoon blew me away, second season let me down q_q…

So I’ll review the first and second season separately instead of one whole series. Plus, the third season is coming out, and I’m just praying that it lives up to the first season. But I’ll defiantly be blogging the third season of Black Lagoon once it comes out.

Black Lagoon - First Season

At first, I didn’t think I’d like this anime. After all, I was never drawn by gun fights, criminals, crazy gangs, etc… but Black Lagoon went FAR beyond my expectations. Holy fucking crap. I haven’t felt such strong suspense and scream "HOLY SHIT" at my computer since Rurouni Kenshin. This anime was SO freakin hardcore <333

There are so many things I loved about the first season, and the very first thing that sold me to this series is Revy. She’s like… freakin bad ass’d. I love her attitude and spunk, and there are some times when Revy can be just plain kawaii (appearance wise) Revy defiantly goes down as my favorite characters for her uniqueness.

I also love Rock. It was so easy for me to see through his mind and his sense of justice. The characters in Black Lagoon are extremely diverse, comparing it to something like… To Heart 2 where the characters just looked the same to me >_>;; It’s interesting to see how over time, Revy grows some sort of attachment towards Rock. At first, if Rock got kidnapped, she would have just left him to die but now if Rock got kidnapped, she’d be chasin after him.

Now… the mission that really blew me away was the whole mess with Garcia Lovelace. Oh my fuckin gawd. Roberta is so kick ass. I was already addicted to this anime, and this mission made my mind explode. There were so many times when I found my self screaming "SHIT SHIT SHIT" at my computer, it was SO freakin suspenseful and hardcore. Not to mention the car chase really blew me away.

Even though the end to the first season sucked, I still love Black Lagoon. Because the begining of the first season was so freakin amazing, it makes up for all the crappy missions in the second season. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves badass’d girls and crazy gun fights. But only for the first season, not the second season…

Black Lagoon - The Second Barrage

I found myself bored and unimpressed many times during the second season. The reason: All the missions sucked. There are little to no times where I was blown away like I was in the first season, but none the less, I’m still loyal to this anime :P

I’ll break down this review by all the missions they did, and I’ll be brief.

  • The killer loli’s: It was…alright. Hansel and Gretel remind me of those two twins from Shakugan no Shana, and because of that, I saw no originality. Man, Shakugan no Shana and BL Second Barrage aired at the same time o_O So if I were watching these two series at the same time, I would think that SnS was some rip off of Black Lagoon >_>;  Black Lagoon still totally pwns Shakugan no Shana. Those two killer loli twins were like really hardcore, but the end didn’t really safisfy me… I mean… they just…died >_>;; Very few suspenseful moments on my end, but those killer loli’s are REALLY hardcore x_x!!
  • Jane: This mission sucked in general. I mean, sure it was funny at some points and the fights were hardcore, suspenseful, not to mention really cool characters such as Sawyer the Cleaner was introduced… but in the end… it didn’t beat the suspense I had when Lagoon Company was being chased by Roberta…and Jane was really annoying…
  • Yukino: Oh god. This one just sucked in general. Yuniko really annoyed me… but my appreciation for Rock went up. There were a lot of deep moments, lots of deep conversations, but none of them really had an impact on me (although it slightly influences my thoughts on the criminal world). Ginji was really hardcore, but sadly, it just wasn’t enough to amaze me…i was still entertained nonetheless. Revy speaking engrish is priceless… and I liked how Revy and Rock’s relationship slightly grew, even though I would have preferred more. In the end, I wish that Black Lagoon started off with the Yukino case and ended with the killer loli case. That way, the ending would be more satisfying for me :P But ah well… there’s a third season comin up anyways xD
At first I thought that Black Lagoon would get better after the killer loli’s but it was just a big let down q_q I still love Revy, and I’m still blown away by the first season so this anime is still within my top 15 favorite anime. However, if the third season sucks more than the second season my rank for this anime will drop dramatically q_q I’m having high hopes for the third season…

sola - review

Category: sola, Anime Reviews @ 11:51 am

Ok. I’m going to be bluntly honest about this series.
I didn’t like it >_>;;

This is more like a opinion-generated critique than a review, and i’m too lazy to make this anything structured.

Let’s cut to the chase. There are a bunch of aspects of this series that led me to dislike this series, and here it is as follows:

1) This part is kind of not the anime’s fault, but I’ve already seen something like this in Windy Tales. Of course, there are HUGE differences such as characters, they follow the EXACT same theme of the sky and I felt like sola is a rip off of windy tales, despite the fact that windy tales is not nearly as popular as sola.
2) The characters. This is kind of where the anime just fell apart for me. For instance, Yorito. I didn’t like him. At all. He lacked personality, and the girls kept going after him for the weakest reasons. I just couldn’t relate to the whole situation at all. There was so much drama going on, and such intense moments that I couldn’t get into because the characters were like… unappealing to me. And they’re killing and sacrficing their lives over him? That’s the part where it was hard to relate to. I also thought that Aono was potrayed very badly. There are times where her personality changes in the end due to "character development", but it just seemed like she was completly out of character for the sake of appealing fan boys >_>;; I also have to add that all of the characters, appearance wise, feel "out of place". As if they were pulled out from different anime series >_>; Mayuko looks like someone pulled out from Rozen Maiden, Matsuri looks like she was pulled off Da Capo, and Aono looks like someone pulled out of Suika or something @_@; It was a pretty bad mix in my opinion, and again, their appearance had no real meaning. I think they would have looked better as regular school girls rather than cliche harem characters…
3) Terrible attempts at humor… do i need to go any deeper?
4) I didn’t like a lot of the flaws and plot holes. How did Takeshi figure out so much about Matsuri, why do the characters act so immature if they’re over 100 years old, etc..

See…the story and plot was REALLY good and had great potential, but what killed it the most for me was the characters -_-;; That was quite possibly the biggest let down. I also have to comment on the pace… the anime came off extremly… dull for a very long time. And I kind of fell asleep through the series and it took me a while to wake up and realize that the series was getting better.

So Sola wasn’t all that great for me, I guess moe harem characters just don’t appeal to me and practically ruin the whole anime. This happens practically all the time when I watch any anime like this :P

Junjo Romantica - Review

Category: Junjo Romantica, Anime Reviews @ 12:10 pm

holy. crap.
holy crap holy crap holy holy crap holy crap holy holy crap holy crap holy crap HOLY FUCKIN CRAP.

WOW. that’s all I have to say. I DID NOT expect such a yaoi series!

…WAIT WHUT!?! YAOI!?! Mel! I thought you never really liked yaoi!
…THAT’S TRUE.

BUT I LOVED JUNJO ROMANTICA~!!!

Jeez… when I think yaoi, I think doujinshi, over the top beautiful bishies, lots of sex, and cheesiness. You could say Junjo Romantica touched on these factors, especially the sex, BUT THEY DID A GOOD JOB WITH IT. SO much better than like… almost all the romance series I’ve ever seen. EVER. EVER EVER EVER EVER. I think this series is so strong, it’s enough to turn any straight guy gay. If not, you’ll still enjoy it if you’re a softy for romance.

The best part about this series has to be that it’s about guys. When I think about it, if Junjo Romantica was about a straight couple, it wouldn’t be nearly as good. The awkward man on man romance seriously adds to the storyline. A lot. And when I think about it again, if this was a guy x girl story, I would probably find the girl to be VERY annoying and cliche the way I normally do. I mean, it’s REALLY hard in anime to create a female character that is unique and loveable. Most of the time, girls are extremly annoying *cough shana cough lousie cough nagi cough and the list goes on*

SO YAOI ALL THE WAY.

I decided to change the format of my "constructive" criticism and gave myself a more structured format. So I’ll try it out with Junjo Romantica and see how I do with this format :D

Storyline A-

Originality: Was Junjo Romantica original? Erm… original is not the word to use for this anime. I mean, there are pleanty of yaoi anime out there and you could say that Junjo Romantica is "no different from them". But you see, the thing that makes Junjo Romantica so amazing is how the emotions of the main characters are protrayed. I’ll explain that more pace and atmosphere. One thing I found really great about this series is the balance of comedy and drama. The writters know exactly when the drama is too much and cover it up with comedy. Not to mention the comedy is ACTAULLY funny and ACTUALLY makes me laugh because 95 out of 100 times an anime tries to pull a joke, I don’t laugh. (unless it’s Hare & Guu or Seto no Hanayome). So Junjo Romantica has something special for me.

Pace & Atmosphere: A LOT will argue that Junjo Romantica is really fast paced. I mean, Usagi and Misaki already had their first kiss in the FIRST episode and got in bed together by the second episode. I slightly agree with the fact that this is really fast paced, but I think what made the pace just right for me was the AMAZING dialouge in between. The words that all the characters say are direct, consise, and STRONG. Even though the story is about a gay couple, it could influnce a straight couple in a LOT of ways. With such strong dialouge, you connect with the characters immediatly. Like… when Misaki goes into his inner thoughts of Usagi… the words he say are just so strong you blank out into like another world and go liek "O_O … dude… that was like…DEEP like…no other o_o." These strong words create a beautiful build up, allowing easy connection with the characters. This gives the writers power and flexibility, because now that the characters are loveable, they don’t need to take 10 or so episodes to build up. Even the build up to sex is amazing, however, I do agree with the fact that they jump in bed and have hot passionate sex pretty fast and pretty often ~_~;; It doesn’t take away from the plot tho :P (For me at least)

Characters B+

Character Appearance (physical): MISAKI AND THE TERRIOST ARE HOT. Even tho they look kind of the same. Hell, most of the characters look the same. I thought that Hiro was a grown up version of Misaki cuz they looked the same to me. That lead to confusion. There are sharp differences in personality and erm…hair style that help you differenciate all the characters, but it would have helped if the characters looked a little different. What I like about the character design is that they’re not over the top beautiful bishies like Vampire Knight, and no characters made to appeal to a specific group of fangirls. The character’s roles are clearly stated, and carried out the whole way. "This is the seme, this is the uke. Nothing more, nothing less"

Character Development: There’s always character development in romance series. Miyagi and Misaki’s transition from straight to gay is so freakin natrual and believeable. It’s kind of interesting to have student -> teacher (Misaki & Usaki) along with teacher -> student (Miyagi & Terrorist, Hiro & Nowaki). Age gaps? Who cares >_>? On the outside it sounds dumb, but once you watch the anime and fall in love with the characters, you’ll see lol.

Character Value: Lawl, most of this was already mentioned in "Pace & Atmosphere" so I’ll skip out on this part lol.

Production B

Animation value: A lot prettier than other anime. The animation isn’t like Gainax or KyoAni crispy, detail, quality (btw, KyoAni only wins in animation and NOT story) but it’s not like… terriable. I didn’t think there was a moment where I thought "argh, that looked gross >_>".

BGM: Not overused, but at some points I felt like the BGM was copied off other anime o_o;; And there are a few VERY rare moments in the BGM that I felt a measure didn’t suit the mood, but meh :P It doesn’t take away from the enjoyment of the series.

Voices: I just gotta say… Sakura Takahiro is like…amazing o_o He did Miyagi’s voice :P You’ve also heard him as Suzaku from Code Geass, or Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy Advent Children. Man, his career has really gotten him far.

OP/ED: Amazing songs, decent animation.

Enjoyment A

Captivation: Did this anime captivate me? Hell yes. I don’t recall ANY moment in this anime where I thought "oh my fucking god when is this episode over -_-?" *pauses anime… chats with friends…watches five minutes of episode … gets bored… makes some graphics… force self to finish rest of episode… kills self*. My attention span sucks, and I have a terriable case of ADHD or something along the lines, but Junjo Romantica got my attention the whole way xD

Value/Memorable: Seeing that this is the FIRST yaoi series in my book, Junjo Romantica will definatly last a long time for me. And the BEST part is, it’s not over yet! I hope o_o I’m urdging for a second season to come out (if there is any) cuz rumors are very strong that there’s a second season. The series was originally 24 episodes, and it cut to 12 o_o?? I’ll have my hopes high and if nothing comes out by the end of the year I’ll assume there’s no second season q_q…

Recommendation Value:  If you hate yaoi, don’t watch >_>; If you’re willing to give into yaoi, then this is like…THE yaoi anime you need to watch. This is great for romance lovers, and treasure for any yaoi fangirl xD But if you’re straight and don’t have a gay phobia, why not give it a try? lol xD I SERIOUSLY, HONESTLY, AND DEEPLY HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS ANIME <3 Especially to yaoi lovers <3 tho i gotta be careful who to recomend it to :P

Suzuka - Review

Category: Suzuka, Anime Reviews @ 10:40 pm

Wow. In a bad way. wow. I seriously didn’t enjoy this anime :/

Why do i always pick the crappy anime to marathon -_-…?

I’m not gonna write a "constructed" review, however, I wanted to write a post for the sake of getting my thoughts out for this anime.

From the very first episode, this anime just didn’t grab me. It was watchable, but not extremly like… entertaining. I had my hopes up high for this anime since it was focused on romance and drama…but…. well… it seriously fell down. Badly.

One thing I REALLY want to complain about is the characters. Jee wiz -_- I hated Akitsuki and Suzuka. I just didn’t find their personalities realistic. See here… with Akitsuki… he’s so freakin dense. and dumb. in a bad way. See, there’s GOOD dense and dumb characters such as Otani from Lovely Complex and Sana Kurata from Kodocha. Their dense and dumb personalities add humor to the show. Then there’s "oh my god you can’t be fucking serious -_-" dense. That’s what Akitsuki is. He just doesn’t get it. At all. I’ve dated some dumb guys, but not as dumb as Akitsuki. While he was dating Honaka, i just wanted to do a face palm at him -_-. He doesn’t think before he talks, and he doesn’t think before he makes a move. Not only that, but I hated how he kept chasing after Suzuka. I honestly didn’t think she was worth all the trouble. I didn’t feel any chemsitry between Suzuka and Akitsuki, and Suzuka is like…a bitch. Honestly. You need to WATCH the show in order to understand how very dumb Akitsuki is, and how much of a bitch Suzuka is. I was watching this with my sister, and she had to put up with my hate comments towards Akitsuki and Suzuka lol. Luckly, Akitsuki isn’t as dumb as Makoto from School Days.

The animation didn’t add to the anime at all. In my opinion… it just made things worse. The coloring was a little… too shiny and glossy? But it can’t be helped, I mean, this anime was made way back when. But there were other anime back in that time that had better animation but crappier storyline :/ Particular tracks from the BGM are WAY too overused. But I still like the opening theme song.

Eng vs Jap? Jap. Akitsuki’s voice in the eng. dub was like… unbareable -_-; Lack of emotion + Annoying voice. Suzuka’s voice matched in the english dub, however, I liked the japanese voice actor better. And i’m a big fan of english dubs D:

As for the story…it’s nothing special. The focus is track and field, which in my opinion, was more of a theme than the storyline. Cliche? Kind of. But this anime wasn’t thought through very well in my opinion. That’s all I have to say.

Kare Kano - Review

Category: Kare Kano, Anime Reviews @ 9:42 pm

Wow, I am SO slow with this anime. I saw it in like January and never bothered to finish it until just now @_@; Mainly because the dub stopped airing at episode 11 and i got too lazy to download the episodes… but i got around to maratoning the rest of this series xD

Boy, was this anime an emotional roller coaster for me xD
I think I watched this anime at the right time, because this series hits the spot for *ahem* hopeless romantics lol…

Quick Synopsis

The story revolves around the romantic life of Miyazawa Yukino and Soichiro Arima. Yukino is the "perfect" role model who is beautiful, perfect, intelligent, and loved by everyone. However, deep down inside, she’s the opposite. She’s like a psycho angry girl who puts up a "role model" front to get attention. When Yukino attends high school, her first ambition is to get the highest test scores, and to become the most admirable girl in school. However, her goals are crushed when she finds that Soichiro Arima is scoring higher scores, is way more talented, better looking, and loved by everyone. The worst part is, he isn’t faking it the way Yukino is! Because of this, Yukino holds a grudge against Arima and starts to truly hate him (But whenever she’s around him, she "pretends" to be nice).
One day, as Yukino and Arima pass in the wallways, Arima goes up to Yukino and confesses to her, saying that he has always loved her. Yukino thinks that Arima is just trying to "trick" her, but in the end, Arima’s feelings for Yukino are expressed in a way that can’t possibly be a lie. Yukino begins to fall in love with Arima and thus their love blossoms~!

Story (17.5/20) A-

I love it i love it i LOVE it. There are so many things about Kare Kano that make the story perfect. I really like high school romances that revolve around ONE main couple and no weird love triangles or squares or whatever… Because of that, it allows space for the two characters to grow, and the relationship to deepen. The anime lacks in "drama" and just focuses on romance. "Wait…if there’s no drama, wtf is the anime supposed to be about?" Well… it just goes into the inner thoughts of the characters, basically. But that’s what I LOVE about Kare Kano. Omg…The the anime expresses how the Yukino and Arima are in love with each other in a way that’s so believable you can’t help but go KYAA~! Well, scratch that. It’s more of a deeper feeling than "KYAA". You just feel this rush of emotions and make you realize why people fall in love with each other, and how much being in love means, etc… Tho, i can see why people wouldn’t like it. I mean… if you’re a boy who has never really been in love before, then Kare kano would be some crap and boring shit that you wouldn’t understand… ah well..

What i also love is the humor. The humor in anime made in the 1990’s shall always be fresh and funny xD I can’t believe you don’t see anime these days that have the same humor D:

I have to admit… towards the middle and end of Kare kano, a lot of new characters are quickly introduced and the focus turns away from Arima and Yukino D: The anime doesn’t spend a lot of time with these other characters, and if they have a flash back or inner thoughts it usually lasts like…one episode. Not enough for one person to interpret or understand :/ This is where the anime starts to decline. Not only that, but there are recaps every 2 or 5 episodes. But none the less, I still enjoyed it.

Animation (16.5/20) B-

It’s hard for me to judge the animation… I mean, this anime was made waaay back in 1998 where anime was in low budget. The animation is defiantly creative in my opinion, even though at some points they’re scans from the manga, still scenery, or just still animation in general. But the character design looks a LOT better than other character designs made during that time *cough serial experiments lain… ah my goddess… etc…* the animation is not spectacular but it’s definatly not terrible. I would say it’s pretty, and bearable :P

Sound (16.5/20) B-

Again, it’s bearable @_@; At times, the BGM kind of interferes with the moment and most of the BGM is very overused and repetitive. The opening and ending theme songs are kind of addictive, but they’re not the best op and eds ever. As for voice acting, I’m going to be honest. When it comes to Arima and Yukino, i prefer the english dub. When it comes to all the side characters, i prefer the Japanese dub. But Japanese dub vs English dub… I much rather prefer english dub. not because i’m too lazy to read subtitles, but because it’s easier to "get into" the episode when you listen and understand the emotion, instead of reading subtitles and a somewhat understanding of japanese emotion in language….

Characters (17.5/20) B+

YES. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Not only does it exist, but it’s believable xD It’s just so… natural how much Yukino and Arima change while being in a relationship with each other. It’s also fun to watch how Arima and Yukino interact with other characters. All the characters in kare kano have their own background story that make you fall in love with them. I LOVE characters like Asaba who just brighten the mood with humor in a non crazy way xD Tho I have to admit that a few characters are there for a weak purpose, but for the most part, all the supporting characters have some kind of contributation to the story.

Enjoyment (18.5/20) A

I obviously loved Kare Kano, but I would only recommend it to people who LOVE love. If you love watching people fall in love, express their feelings of love, change because of love, go crazy because of love, then you MUST watch Kare Kano. I think the only people who wouldn’t enjoy Kare Kano are those who don’t really care about love, don’t know what’s it’s like to be in love, or have no heart -_-. However, stop around episode 10 or 11 because the anime begins to decline due to low budget x_o;; such a shame…

Vampire Knight - Review

Category: Vampire Knight, Anime Reviews @ 9:44 pm

Ok… so I spent 3 hours of my day marathoning the rest of Vampire Knight.
geez… in the middle of every episode I kept wondering… "when the heck is this episode over ~_~?"
I’d pause in between to chat with my friends cuz this anime just bored me. Forgive me, Vampire Knight fans, but I think this anime is a tad bit over rated.
If I were to describe Vampire Knight in one word… it’d be cheesy.

The whole concept of vampires in was always cheesy in my opinion, and I had my hopes up really high for this anime. Unfortunately, I put my hopes up a little too high and ended up disappointed.

One of the biggest flaws of Vampire Knight are the characters. Most of the characters in this anime are just there to appeal to fan girls. I’d say 80% of the characters in this anime are bishies with very little difference in personality ~_~;; I mean, it took me a while to tell the difference between Kain and Aidou cuz they looked, well, the same to me. A lot of characters were introduced at once, and because the first season was so short, there wasn’t enough time to get comfortable with all the characters. Even after watching the whole series and reading the manga, I can admit that I barely know the names and faces of the students in the night class. And I’m usually good with names >_>;;
Now, the characters like Yuuki and Kaname don’t have very flexible personalities in my opinion. I can tell that these two characters are barely going to develop throughout the series. I mean, in the first season, Kaname stayed pretty much the same, no real change. As for Yuuki, I did see a slight change in her opinion towards vampires as well as Zero, but in my opinion, the only character that’s REALLY developing is Zero. However, Zero has a grudge against like… everyone. This really conflicts with my enjoyment of the series because it ends up being, well…repetitive. The anime keeps on making flash backs about Zero and it’s 60% of the time about how he came about to hate someone, or how someone led him to hate vampires, how someone hates him, etc…

I think another flaw, that can’t exactly be helped, is how Vampire knight is airing at the same time as Special A and Shugo Chara. Both SA and SC have the "exclusive" classes. Special A is a class of students with supernatural powers and intelligence, and Shugo Chara has the Guardians. Vampire knight has the Night classes, and the unrealistic + ANNOYING fangirls who obsess over them. So I feel like I’m seeing the same idea eaten and pooped out over and over. This is another reason why i find Vampire knight pretty cheesy :P Again, this can’t be helped, and if I watched Vampire Knight before Special A and Shugo Chara i probably wouldn’t think this way.

As for the story, Vampire Knight is a good idea that was not executed very well. I feel like it won’t go any deeper than grudges, angst and vampire hunting. There is a tad bit of romance and comedy, but it’s really not enough to save the series for me. Yes, there is chemistry between Yuuki and Zero. Maybe it’s just me, but i didn’t feel anything for those two…

I can’t really find anything about this series that I like. I think that fangirls just obsess over this anime because of Zero or something cuz the story just didn’t do it for me.

So the first season left me really disappointed, but I’ll give this anime a second chance with the second season. Maybe someone can prove me wrong, I dunno, but I predict my opinion of this anime will not change. I will always think of Vampire Knight as a cheesy anime.
